Shawn Mertz began photographing as a hobby at the age of 11. After high school he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and received a degree in photography / Multi Media.
Much of his 25 years experience photographing was for a chain of newspapers. Shawn received a Keystone Press Award, and an award from the News Photographers of Greater Pittsburgh. In 1998 he entered into business. photographing for businesses, weddings, and other private events.
